“The more I see of Leicester defender Caglar Soyuncu, the more I like him”
Former Arsenal and England centre-back Martin Keown believes Turkish Leicester City defender Caglar Soyuncu is ‘as good as anything you’ll see at present’.
Well, Foxes of Leicester certainly don’t disagree with former-Arsenal player Martin Keown when he says that! Caglar Soyuncu has been immense this campaign; far exceeding the quality of Harry Maguire. To everyone’s surprise.
However, it seems the Turk was ready-made for the English top-flight as he has all the necessary attributes: strength, vision, aerial ability, proficiency and calmness. Premier League defenders are considered some of the best in the modern game and that skill set definitely defines the Leicester man as a contemporary leader.
Some have even compared Soyuncu with Virgil Van Dijk but those comparisons are premature and possibly misguided. Van Dijk is the best in the world as this writer sees it as of now.
While the ex-Frieburg defensive-player hasn’t let his new-found – and astonishingly large – cult following go to his head. Neither will it affect the Foxes’ play on the pitch. Soyuncu told lcfc.com that they are taking the Premier League “one game at a time.” The tough guy also informed the website that he is very proud to be a member of such a talented squad.

A stunning Leicester City duo
Jonny Evans and his partner have formed quite the double act; we think premiership attackers must no longer relish getting at tired Leicester City centre-halfs like Wes Morgan. In fact, many observers opine that it is one of the premier duos in the league.
Additionally, the current BBC Sport pundit, Keown, explained his admiration:
"“The more I see of Leicester defender Caglar Soyuncu, the more I like him.He is only 23 but the Turkey international looks like a defender who is made for the demands of the modern game.”– Martin KeownRead much, much more at bbc.co.uk"
