Manchester City are said to be monitoring Ben Chilwell, with a potential deal in January. Other reports say Chelsea want the Leicester City left-back.

Leicester City are in a marvelous successive run of form in the Premier League, with four wins in four matches. They are second in the division behind Liverpool. Not to mention that the Foxes have conceded the least goals overall.

Well done to Kasper Schmeichel, Ben Chilwell, Caglar Soyuncu, Jonny Evans and Ricardo Pereira.

This success leads many onlookers to believe that the East Midlands side has the best defence in the English top-flight. It’s likely that the aforementioned team and Manchester City will overtake Leicester in that category. And possibly league positioning, too.

However, if the Foxes push Chelsea all the way, as well as prospectively the presumably revitalized Tottenham Hotspur falter as usual, third is up for grabs. That would also mean a return to Champions League football for Brendan Rodgers’ exciting team.

Leicester City defence in demand

While manager Rodgers thinks that the King Power club can retain its star players, in reality it may be difficult for several reasons. Just as it was with Harry Maguire and Riyad Mahrez, in totally different scenarios.

If a ridiculously high offer is made for one of their vital players, will it be difficult for Leicester to reject? Similarly, refusing an athlete whose desire it is to depart is also awkward.

While Maguire handled himself with class, Mahrez was the ultimate example of an ingrate who’ll stop at nothing, including disrupting the entire squad, to childishly realize his demands.

Ben Chilwell’s status

With the defence being the most proficient in the league, it’s no wonder clubs such as Chelsea and Man City are tracking members like Chilwell. Football media outlet, 90min, give their take on who they think will be the first to leave:

"Ben Chilwell is another Foxes player attracting interest from elsewhere, with Manchester City and Chelsea both keen. Leicester are keen to hold on to him too, but if any of the three [Youri Tielemans along with James Maddison] are to depart the east Midlands, he [Chilwell] is the one most likely to leave at present.Via: 90min"
