Brendan Rodgers was full of praise for Leicester City as they maintained their hot streak with a 2-0 win over Brighton and Hove Albion.

The Foxes secured their sixth consecutive victory in all competitions – won nine of their last ten – to keep the pressure on Liverpool and keep the “believers” interested.

Like everyone else, Rodgers was very pleased with what he saw at the Amex Stadium, lauding his team’s hard work and how they take “that confidence into the games”.

Speaking after the game, he said:

"“[It was a] brilliant win.“I knew before that this would be a real examination. They are very strong at home, and also have a really good football idea. I thought the performance was very, very good. We started really well and could have been a couple in front – Ayoze hit the bar and Jamie had a header saved.“We defended well and in order to defend well you are hoping then it gives you opportunities to create. [Leicester] are an exciting team, work really hard and they suffer every day in training and then take that confidence into the games.”"

With each week passing by, Leicester, instead of showing any signs of slowing down, are getting better and sharper.

The ease with which they have been able to dispatch their opponents should be a cause of worry for everyone – the league leaders included.

This is not to say that they are better than or just as good as the Reds – they are not – but to imply that Rodgers’ Leicester are not daunted easily. They have shown that enough times.

There’s so much self-belief in this team right now that they do not seem to care who they are up against. This fearlessness is starting to make more and more believe that this could be a season that goes on to match 2015/16 in some description.

Forget about the title, even if Leicester finish second or third, it would be massive and just as big an achievement as the title win, considering that the quality of the league is undoubtedly better than it was four years ago.
