Leicester City are in no mood to take the foot off the gas anytime soon, says James Maddison.

Like the 2015/16 season, there is no shortage of people who have been expecting the Foxes to slip up. Much to their dismay, they have to see Leicester do even better than the week before every time they play.

It is also important, however, for the players to stay grounded and keep working the same way because one mistake could lead to many, or put differently, it could set off a chain of unfortunate events.

Maddison, who has been superb this season, realises this and has therefore reiterated that the team will keep working hard.

"“Momentum is such a key thing, that’s why teams always win titles and they’re right up there,” he was quoted as saying by the Mirror.  “They always go through spells where the momentum is with them, they take advantage of that and they get wins in consecutive games like we’re doing at the minute.“If we want to be considered a top team, we have to keep doing that.“We know that we’re not going to take our foot off the gas because every game is a tough game in this league.“We’ll get back to the training pitch and we’ll keep working hard to try and stay up there.”"

With each week passing by, Leicester, instead of showing any signs of slowing down, are getting better and sharper. It shows that they are not getting ahead of themselves despite being extraordinarily good.

The ease with which they have been able to dispatch their opponents should be a cause of worry for everyone – the league leaders included.

This is not to say that they are better than or just as good as the Reds – they are not – but to imply that Rodgers’ Leicester are not daunted easily. They have shown that enough times.

There’s so much self-belief in this team right now that they do not seem to care who they are up against. This fearlessness is starting to make more and more believe that this could be a season that goes on to match 2015/16 in some description.

Forget about the title, even if Leicester finish second or third, it would be massive and just as big an achievement as the title win.
