Leicester City: Three reasons to be thankful for
For always prioritising the fans
The late Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha is not revered because his investment helped resurrect Leicester, he is revered because of how little he took from the club and how much he gave to it.
Everything he ever did was done keeping in mind the fans’ interests. This is why he was respected by all of the footballing world and not just the Leicester faithful. How many owners can we think of who fall in the same category?
He made Leicester a club of principles, of class and of comity. From shelling out free beers and free chips on selected matchdays to actively working with East Midlands-based charities, the examples that Leicester have set for other bigger clubs, are utterly applaudable – especially when you consider their relative lack of stature and size.
It surprises no one that the team and the owners shares such an amazing bond with the fans. After all, they are here for the fans and by the fans.
