Top signings expected at Leicester – Brendan Rodgers
With the amazing beginning to 2019/20 made by Leicester City, boss Brendan Rodgers believes Europe’s top talent will take notice in the transfer market.
Challenging Manchester City and Liverpool at the top of the Premier League table certainly won’t have gone unnoticed with any iconic footballers in Europe. In fact, the entire world will know that Leicester City are embarking on another incredible journey.
This, of course, is great for many reasons: the initial advance in the top-flight, the push for Champions League football, the increased revenue possibly to come, confidence and diligence to prospectively win a cup. Having a top manager like Brendan Rodgers will help, too. He signed a new five-and-a-half year contract on Friday.
Then there is the most important factor to running a successful club – having the best players available. Having such a high-profile in European footballing circles is now standard for the ubiquitous seeming Foxes. They are known and loved worldwide for the fairytale, yet very real, premiership triumph in 2016.
Attracting the elite to Leicester City
In a recent interview transcribed by The Telegraph, the Northern Irishman conveyed his belief that the strong start to Leicester’s campaign ensures the preeminent players in Europe may consider a move to Filbert Way:
"“We sit outside the so-called bigger clubs but where we sit in the table will make people sit up and take notice.“Our mission has always been clear, we want to play European football and of course the best players want to play in those competitions.”– Brendan RodgersRead more at Telegraph Sport"
Additionally, Rodgers also thinks that the East Midlands side’s very impressive, new training facility – currently under construction – will also possibly entice fresh quality to his team. Whether that is in either the January or summer transfer window, remains to be seen. Although a centre-back as well as winger are reportedly on the shopping list.
The former Celtic gaffer also mentioned the style of play exhibited by Leicester presently; a mixture of exceptional intensity with a high standard of proficiency. Which is proving to be predominant over many decent opponents. Don’t expect the pinnacle athletes to arrive, such as Kylian Mbappe. Though others on the direct level below may well be King Power players soon.
