Leicester City are leading the race for Hull City forward Jarrod Bowen, according to the Daily Mirror.

The Foxes are expected to make an attempt to sign him in January as Brendan Rodgers looks to further strengthen his squad.

Bowen has been running rings round defences in the Sky Bet Championship this season. He has 16 goals and four assists in 22 league appearances, just one behind Aleksandar Mitrovic.

That is an astounding goal tally for someone who is a winger, and it does underline the potential of the 22-year old.

It is a little surprising that there’s no ‘Big Six’ club currently interested in signing the Englishman.

Newcastle United, Southampton and Leeds United are the only clubs competing with Leicester at the moment. If it stays the same, Rodgers will find it very easy to land him.

Even if the big boys do inevitably come in for Bowen, it does nothing to hamper Leicester’s chances.

Any and every young player would want to play at the King Power Stadium, given how Rodgers, and the club in general, has formed a reputation for trusting youth and nurturing talented young players into world beaters.

There is also the small matter of being able to get enough playing time, something that a traditional ‘Big Six’ club is unlikely to guarantee. At Leicester, Bowen does not only get that but an opportunity to play in the UEFA Champions League next season.
