January transfer window move likely for this Leicester defender

Fresh reports within the national media this week suggest a January transfer window move, or loan, is likely for this Leicester City defender.

The majority of talk this week was an inquest of the loss to Manchester City, in which Leicester City were beaten 3-1. Up next is a home clash with Premier League leaders Liverpool, on Boxing Day. They have been off winning the World Club Cup but will be back in England for Christmas.

Leicester City transfer news

Brendan Rodgers conducted his usual pre-match press conference on Monday, prior to the Reds contest. He is, of course, a former boss of the team now managed by German opposite number, Jurgen Klopp.

Team updates and injury news were given ahead of the important match to come. However, you can expect more and more transfer speculation and briefs now until February 1st.

Rodgers, always measured and with an almost footballing politician-like manner, enlightened the Foxes faithful on a player they have not yet really seen any of.

Filip Benkovic joined simultaneously with current cult hero Caglar Soyuncu, although the former hasn’t had a chance to break into the first team side.

Benkovic had a very successful loan spell at the Northern Irishman’s ex-club, Celtic. It was thought at the time of returning to Leicester that the Croatian was wanted permanently by the Hoops. Though he was also highly regarded in the East Midlands, therefore no deal materialized.

Now Telegraph Sport have suggested that the defender is a target of Derby County. While Rodgers vowed to find ‘the right’ club for the 22-year-old:
