Sky Sports Pundit Charlie Nicholas has made a bold prediction ahead of a mouth-watering encounter between Leicester City and Liverpool.

The former Arsenal forward reckons that Brendan Rodgers’ side are going to beat the Reds, therefore bringing an end to their 34-game unbeaten run in the Premier League.

Nicholas, unlike many others, did not adduce Liverpool’s recent travels and the exhaustion caused  as the reason behind his prediction, instead referring to Leicester’s “energy and movement”.

Here’s what he wrote in his Sky Sports column:

"“It is a stunning game. I have seen a lot from Leicester but they are still a bit off the top level. Liverpool have been out celebrating their new trophy and I don’t blame them for it – their fixture list is supposed to be hampering them, but they have played two games in Doha where they were not overly stressed in either.“I cannot see the excuses with fatigue or travelling, but I think Leicester will turn this around here. The energy and movement will cause Liverpool problems, who may want to play on the counter-attack; Liverpool are due a loss and I think this will be the game.”"

Leicester’s movement is good enough to cause trouble to any half-decent team and “ideally”, Liverpool should be no exception to that, especially when you consider that Leicester are playing at home.

Rodgers was guilty of perhaps getting his tactics wrong in the 3-1 defeat to Manchester City last week. Having gone winless in two, he would not want two to become three, so he has to be careful in terms of his formation, tactics and the personnel he opts for to make it all work.

If he cannot afford to be overly gung-ho, he cannot afford to give the visitors too much respect either. Rodgers will have to find a way to strike the right balance – that’s key in big games.

He will know the importance of this fixture. If Leicester lose here, you will say maybe that is that as far as the title is concerned. They win and, well, a number of possibilities open up with Liverpool playing four of the top eight in their next four games.
