Brendan Rodgers made nine changes to his Leicester City side after defeat to Liverpool. A brave move which came to fruition.

Well, well, well, it appears Brendan Rodgers has shocked us again with another miraculous Premier League masterclass. Disparate as it was to beat West Ham United 2-1 with the majority of your reserve XI, in contrast with players underperforming and having an incorrect plan for the Liverpool match.

For Saturday’s incredible away victory at London Stadium, Brendan Rodgers made nine changes: he didn’t have any choice about rotation with two games in three days. Jamie Vardy and family welcomed a new addition to the family, so he was unavailable.

Incoming duo Demarai Gray and Kelechi Iheanacho did the damage to the Hammers via a revitalized Ayoze Perez’s brace of assists. The East Londoners were incredibly lackadaisical, badly organized and generally not at the races. Foxes of Leicester wouldn’t expect their manager, Manuel Pellegrini, to be around much longer in his current incarnation.

In all honesty, it was unbelievable to see Leicester still cruising in the last 15 minutes, it would’ve been no surprise to see the Foxes grab a third goal. Though we imagine boss Brendan Rodgers will return to his most trusted and adept line-up for the next outing to Newcastle United’s St James’ Park.

What Brendan Rodgers said after Leicester City’s impressive win

FoL must also admit to questioning the Foxes chief’s rather extreme selection: though he is undoubtedly the best head coach the Leicester faithful could wish for.

Immediately post-contest, the Northern Irishman in charge gave his verdict on the three-points attained in the capital:

Trending. Rodgers has the remedy for victory, especially with this LCFC side. light

"“It’s a brilliant testament to the players. It’s a league where you have to be at your maximum.“Coming off the back of those two defeats, total trust in my whole squad, so the changes were important. I’m so pleased for them.“These are the types of wins why we are in the positive position we’re in.”Via: Leicester Mercury"
