Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain want Ricardo Pereira
Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are interested in signing Leicester City right-back Ricardo Pereira, as reported by French outlet Le10Sport.
They are not alone in this race, though, with a number of Serie A clubs monitoring the Portuguese international closely.
Belgian outlet Nieuwsblad have previously linked Pereira with Tottenham Hotspur, too, so that’s a lot of clubs who are after him, and consequently, lots of trouble for Leicester to keep him.
Nieuwsblad’s report also claims that shall Leicester sell the 26-year old in January – which is more a case of “if” rather than “when” – then Royal Antwerp’s Aurelio Buta is who they would look at as the replacement.
Despite being one of the best in his position in the Premier League, Pereira’s displays have surprisingly gone under the radar a bit.
It’s both good and bad: good because it keeps others clubs away and bad because it deprives him of the plaudits he deserves. Gradually, however, he is beginning to see more of the spotlight.
The former Porto defender has come a long, long way since that shocker against AFC Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium in 2018 in a 4-2 drubbing.
One can even go so far to say that only Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold is better than Pereira in this part of the world, although defensively, the latter is marginally ahead.
It’s clear to see as to why so many clubs want him. There’s zero chance of Brendan Rodgers letting him go, though – not without a mammoth sum and an awful lot of negotiations anyway.
