Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho is reportedly preparing a £30 million bid for Leicester City right-back Ricardo Pereira, according to the Express.

And we can understand why. After all, who would want to see Serge Aurier trying to act like a footballer every week?

You don’t have to go too far to know what poor Jose and Tottenham fans go through every week. If you’ve already had the misfortune of watching Aurier play in his side’s 1-0 defeat to Southampton earlier today, our thoughts are with you. If you didn’t, watch the highlights and you may as well personally ask Brendan Rodgers to sell Pereira to the North-Londoners.

But Manchester United and Paris-Saint Germain – two teams who are no Liverpool themselves when it comes to their full-backs – wouldn’t just let Spurs snaffle one of the best right-backs in the world. They want him, too. Of course, they do have the right to dream.

Belgian outlet Nieuwsblad’s report also claims that shall Leicester sell the 26-year old in January – which is more a case of “if” rather than “when” – then Royal Antwerp’s Aurelio Buta is who they would look at as the replacement. Cue “Welcome to Champions League club Leicester, Aurelio Buta” videos.

Despite being one of the best in his position in the Premier League, Pereira’s displays have surprisingly gone under the radar a bit.

It’s both good and bad: good because it keeps others clubs away and bad because it deprives him of the plaudits he deserves. Gradually, however, he is beginning to see more of the spotlight.

It’s clear to see as to why so many clubs want him. There’s zero chance of Rodgers letting him go, though – not without a sum close to £800 million and an awful lot of negotiations anyway.
