Leicester City should sell Islam Slimani to Aston Villa: Transfers
Islam Slimani has apparently requested to leave AS Monaco and return to the EPL. Aston Villa will presumably be on high alert, after wanting his services.
For a year or so, Leicester City supporters believed the club needed an adept understudy for first choice striker Jamie Vardy. However, within the last three months former Manchester City forward Kelechi Iheanacho has finally begun justifying his hefty transfer pricetag at the Foxes.
Therefore another attacker hasn’t really been an issue on the mind of fans, or something mentioned by Brendan Rodgers when asked about the situation by media in press conferences. Though the Northern Irishman has divulged a need for another centre-back; while courting a potential suitor for Filip Benkovic to go to on loan.

Meanwhile Islam Slimani is still on Leicester’s books, which may shock some. What may also pleasantly surprise you is his goal involvement record this season, whilst at AS Monaco: he’s netted seven and assisted the same amount in 13 appearances.
The Algeria international a slightly better tally than one goal contribution a match – a stunning effort. Albeit the standard is much lesser than the Premier League. Although, Ligue 1 in France is still a top-five European division.
Aston Villa and Islam Slimani
This week Sky Sports, among other outlets, reported that Slimani has requested a return to the premiership. He has only played 30 minutes of football for Monaco in 2020: he’s out-of-favour under new manager Robert Moreno.
Manchester United were linked with a move following Marcus Rashford’s injury, yet Sky says that switch is unlikely. Aston Villa are supposedly “monitoring” updates on Slimani. But Villa signed striker Mbwana Samatta recently in this transfer window, limiting the chances of the 31-year-old signing.
Nevertheless, Foxes of Leicester advocate a sale to the Villains – and with his exploits this season, most of his fee could be recouped.
