Manchester United are still keen on signing Leicester City midfielder James Maddison this summer, according to the Evening Standard.

A no.10 is among the Red Devils’ priorities, and the two names on their list are those of Jadon Sancho and Maddison.

The 22-year was a target in January as well; however, Brendan Rodgers made it very clear way before the transfer window that there will be no key players leaving the King Power Stadium in the middle of the season.

But United want they want. They wanted Harry Maguire and they did get him in the end. They want Maddison and they are not going to be put off so easily.

Leicester have tried to hand him an improved contract, though it has been previously reported that the 22-year old is not close to signing a new deal with the club. He wants to wait till the summer to take a decision.

Well, imagine the scenes when Maddison has not a signed a new contract and United, Liverpool and Arsenal et al are all coming in with bid after bid. Leicester Twitter could explode.

The club are confident, though, that the former Norwich City midfielder will sign a contract extension – that is according to The Athletic’s David Ornstein.

Much like Leicester’s football, their work off the field is world-class as well, so you would trust them on this one.
