Likelihood of Wilfred Ndidi returning for next Leicester match

Wilfred Ndidi suffered a relapse of a knee injury recently, this meant he was unavailable for the Chelsea match. When will the Nigeria international return?

Leicester City Football Club employees, including playing staff, are currently enjoying a 13-day interval from action. With the Foxes’ next Premier League fixture at Wolverhampton Wanderers on February 14. Then there is an FA Cup fifth round tie against Birmingham City to look forward to.

Leicester City winter break

Brendan Rodgers recently explained how the team decided not to take a warm weather training holiday or vacation for the entire side, due to a then possible cup replay versus Brentford which never materialized.

However, players have been given a full week away from Belvoir Drive or King Power Stadium in order to recover fully from the heavy schedule that has been undertaken. This is without group responsibilities.

Some of the side have gone abroad; James Maddison is one of those photographed in a picturesque environment on another continent. Hopefully this will ensure a return to top form for him, along with everyone else recharging their batteries.

Wilfred Ndidi’s status

One man who was as in need of a break as anyone, is defensive-minded midfielder Wilfred Ndidi. The Nigeria international made a startlingly miraculous recovery from minor surgery not long ago; and while he wasn’t rushed back, he did probably play too soon.

Apparently Ndidi was fine following the Aston Villa match, but was withdrawn from the Leicester City XI to play Chelsea because of a relapse. Because the 23-year-old was rested in the last contest, Leicester Mercury state that there is a chance he’ll play vs. Wolves. Let’s hope so!
