Brendan Rodgers has added further fuel to fire by heaping praise on Leicester City target Adam Lallana.

The Liverpool midfielder is being heavily linked with a move to Leicester with his time at Anfield now seemingly up.

Jurgen Klopp is yet to offer him a new deal and if it stays this way, then he would be a free agent in the summer.

While the Foxes are yet to make a formal approach, Rodgers may have dropped a hint of sorts and there could indeed be something on the table soon.

"“He’s a fantastic player,” said Rodgers. ”I’ve been aware of his talent since he was a young player. He has done brilliantly there and I’m sure he is weighing up his options, but we don’t need to speak about it now. He’s a top-class player.”"

Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and West Ham United are also among those monitoring his situation at Anfield; however, his previous relationship with Rodgers hands Leicester a massive advantage.

For those of you who have forgotten, it is Rodgers who brought Lallana to Liverpool in 2014 from Southampton. There is every chance he could bring him to the King Power Stadium now.

Given that UEFA Champions League qualification could be a decisive factor, Leicester would have another advantage over Arsenal, Spurs and West Ham, seeing as none of those three look like securing a top four finish whereas Leicester do.

All things considered, Lallana would be a decent addition to this squad. Rodgers knows him from their time before, so you would think he also knows how to bring the best out of him.

If it works, it is a nail hit right on the head, if it does not, he would have most likely been signed for free anyway. Win-win, innit?
