Leicester squad update including Wilfred Ndidi injury status
Before playing Wolverhampton Wanderers on Friday evening, Brendan Rodgers undertook his usual pre-match Leicester City press conference; Wilfred Ndidi’s status is covered.
Foxes of Leicester has heard much talk that Friday’s upcoming encounter with Wolverhampton Wanderers is a particularly tricky one. This notion is definitely accurate: if Leicester City don’t perform high in their capability, it will be a very difficult game.
However this writer does believe the Foxes can defeat Wolves, who are currently ninth in the table. Although they’ve had a difficult season back into European competition, therefore their Premier League position doesn’t reflect their quality. If Brendan Rodgers’ side is at 80-90 per cent strength in-game – they will win.
Leicester City at Wolves
There is no doubt that the player most likely to cause problems for the East Midlands team presently is right-winger Adama Traore. His pace proved too much for Christian Fuchs in a duel a couple of years ago.
Ben Chilwell has struggled to replicate his fine 2018/19 form this campaign so the Traore question will be a consequential element. The latter isn’t the only issue: Raul Jiminez, Matt Doherty, Jonny Otto, Joao Moutinho and Ruben Nevez are a quality collective, too. Though Traore hasn’t yet been passed fit due to a knock so may miss the match.
Leicester squad status
According to Rodgers, his Foxes enjoyed private breaks with family and friends and are very rested indeed, with ‘fully charged batteries’.
During Wednesday’s presser, the Northern Irishman spoke of Matty James still building confidence, along with announcing club captain Wes Morgan’s availability for the clash. The King Power club’s boss also proclaimed Wilfred Ndidi a doubt for the fixture but said the Nigerian will be assessed ahead of the game, per Leicester Mercury. An ominous feeling always occurs when the 23-year-old is unlikely to play.
