Man City want Leicester City boss if Pep Guardiola leaves
How a financial fair play ban for Manchester City boosts Leicester City’s Champions League hopes but means the Citizens could obtain the Foxes boss.
Leicester City find themselves third in the Premier League with a real chance of qualifying for the Champions League in 2020/21. Only Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City and Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are above the Foxes.
Additionally there is a decent gap between the King Power club and Frank Lampard’s. Chelsea in fourth position. In fact the Pensioners are less consistent than Leicester, and are arguably not quite as good an outfit as their rivals for third spot.
Tottenham Hotspur are back in form now, a last-minute winner at Aston Villa helped their push up the table. Then there is obviously always the threat of a Manchester United surge.
Where it’s going wrong for Leicester City
Brendan Rodgers’ side is not in a slump but has suffered a decrease in goalscoring as well as, of course, points attained. The Northern Irishman has done a marvelous job overall, though there are issues at present.
Jamie Vardy often finds himself isolated in contemporary matches; passing is labored; and James Maddison, Youri Tielemans and Ayoze Perez’s scoring contributions have dropped somewhat on average. Although certain players like Ricardo Pereira along with Harvey Barnes are thriving at the moment.
Leicester City boss targeted
Because Leicester City have had such a great season so far, their boss will be courted by larger clubs. Manchester City are said to be eyeing up Rodgers and former Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino as a replacement for Guardiola. That is if the Spaniard leaves the Citizens due to a ban from the Champions League for two years.
