Which peripheral and back-up players should Leicester City rid themselves of during the summer transfer window?

What a season Leicester City are currently enjoying: Premier League third, still in the FA Cup, semi-finals in the Carabao Cup. Impressive from manager Brendan Rodgers in his first full maiden campaign. And there’s still a third of the term to go.

However, if the Foxes qualify for Champions League football their squad must be strong. It also cannot carry any dead weight: it’s imperative that even the peripheral personnel is of a top-class capacity.

Some of the men on Filbert Way currently are not up to scratch in that regard. Additionally there are a few players whom may only demand a decent transfer fee for another year – if that. Therefore it is worth selling them as soon as possible.

Adrien Silva

Poor old Adrien Silva has had a terrible time while at the King Power club. His infamous 14 seconds calamity was not funny at all to Leicester fans nor staff. An absolute debacle that someone at the office should have definitely lost their job over.

Thankfully for Silva and those of us who wish him well, his loan club AS Monaco want him on a permanent deal so it is in his best interest to move. At age-31 in March, he will not be commanding as big a fee as he can in 2020’s off-season. Offload the wages, he’s not threatening the current trio in the middle.
