Confident, quality, suitable wingers are needed at Leicester City. There will also be spaces for other creative players if Champions League qualification is realised.

It is imperative that Leicester City strengthen in the summer, if the East Midlands team return to Champions League football. Nobody can deny that assertion. Some players will be sold or loaned out, too. Yet we can definitely expect a larger squad next season.

One area in which the Foxes need to add to their ranks, is the winger role. There is also always space for other types of creatives – especially when entering the pinnacle of European competition. Therefore Foxes of Leicester has identified two possible additions that the Foxes’ recruitment department have most likely already assessed themselves.

Norwich City to Leicester City?

There is a duo making their names this campaign for the bottom placed Premier League club: Norwich City’s Todd Cantwell and Emi Buendia. Both men could bolster the King Power side, either would improve options.

21-year-old Cantwell is a talented, modern wingman. But he can centralise during games to make things happen; as well as doubling as a No.10 if necessary. His goalscoring is more impressive than his facilitating: with two assists and six finishes total. Manchester United, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Everton are all apparently interested.

While Buendia is most comfortable as an attacking midfielder; but can similarly also be fielded and effective on the wing. His statistics this term mean many top clubs in Europe will be monitoring the starlet, with comparisons drawn with City’s James Maddison.

According to WhoScored, the Argentine has produced three more accurate through balls than Manchester City superstar Kevin De Bruyne overall. In addition, Buendia is incredibly first for the outlet’s Man of the Match awards in 2019/20; second in the key passes category; as well as being third in the assists and dribbles section for the entire division. Wow.

Unless he is snapped up by a top La Liga outfit, Buendia is in the premiership to stay. Leicester should be the side to claim him if the Canaries are relegated, certainly. In FoL’s opinion, at age-23, he should be a first choice target.
