If Leicester City secure Adam Lallana on a free transfer in the summer, the signing would be a great deal for the Foxes.

What a season Liverpool are having: it’s not just the foregone conclusion of them winning the Premier League this season but the sheer quality they have as surplus. Leicester City would definitely consider taking a few of the Reds’ squad players on loan or permanently. Xherdan Shaqiri, Joel Matip and James Milner don’t get many chances particularly in the first XI currently.

Another skilled, adept midfielder on the periphery of the roster is talented playmaker Adam Lallana. His contract with the Anfield side is elapsing. Speculation has the England international moving after May, due to Liverpool being unwilling to offer another. He is now free to negotiate with any prospective club, with his club’s permission.

During the last week, Foxes recruitment staff reportedly met with the 31-year-old’s representatives, per Sky Sports. This was presumably Lallana’s agent and or a manager. At present an option like Lallana on the bench would alleviate the issue with Youri Tielemans underperforming and James Maddison supplying less goal involvements, for example.

Benefits for Leicester City

As Foxes of Leicester see it, any athlete of Lallana’s calibre would improve most teams, especially as back-up or a super substitute type. Well, as long as the former Southampton man isn’t demanding exorbitant wages. His income would most likely have to be of a lesser amount than he’s used to in order to join Leicester.

However, the dressing room influence, influx of skill, positive team-mate element would be extremely encouraging. Experience as a Champions League, Fifa Club World Cup and UEFA Super Cup winner is also immeasurable.

The fact that Brendan Rodgers managed Lallana, is a fan of his and had admitted an interest bodes well for the East Midlanders here. We expect the midfielder to strongly consider Leicester City, regardless of other significant teams’ interest.
