Leicester City have been offered the chance to sign RB Leipzig midfeilder Emil Forsberg, according to SportBild.

However, they are not the only club to have been given the option, with Manchester United, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Everton also in the mix.

Now, you might be thinking as to why are Leipzig being so kind. Well, they are not exactly being kind. They are just getting rid of a problem, or at least that is what Julian Nagelsmann’s treatment of him would tell you.

The Leipzig boss has been benching the 28-year old a lot for someone who is such a good player. He has only started 10 Bundesliga games this season and has made 24 appearances across all competitions in total.

It is not the player’s ability but the attitude that appears to be the problem. He has reportedly been behaving notoriously in the training sessions and has only recently said that he has nothing to prove to anyone. So anyone who thinks about buying him will have to be wary of that.

We know that Brendan Rodgers is a bit of magician when it comes to man management, so if he thinks that the Swedish international could bring something to the table at Leicester – which he obviously will – he could be willing to take a risk.

There is no questioning the fact that Forsberg’s a cracking player. He is versatile, his numbers are always up there – he has nine goals and four assists this season – and is proven at the top level. If Leicester really do get the chance to snaffle him, they must.
