Thorgan Hazard

The first player – and probably the most difficult player to sign – is Thorgan Hazard, the younger brother of Eden Hazard. The 26-year-old has recently signed for Borussia Dortmund, which would make acquiring him difficult. He’s played 74% of their Bundesliga games so far and 71% of their Champions League games, a key component of Lucian Favre’s frontline.

The attacking-midfielder prefers playing on the left, but his strongest foot is his right one – fitting the characteristics of what Rodgers should be looking for. His only real weakness is aerial duels, which, as a 5’5” winger isn’t essential. He is a clever passer of the ball and has 1.7 key passes per game, as well as a goal or assist every 116 minutes (which is better than Barnes’ goal contribution every 154 minutes).

He signed a contract until 2024 and has a market value of £37.6 million, although with Jadon Sancho seeming destined for a Premier League return – the German club will be hesitant to sell too many of their attacking assets.
