Leicester City’s goalkeeper and matchday captain, Kasper Schmeichel, talks about the squad’s strange week during the coronavirus pandemic.

Due to the outbreak of coronavirus, or covid-19, the English top-flight Premier League has suspended its season. Slowly following the example of other elite European leagues.

Canceling sports events and other mass gatherings is obviously the sensible step in these times. We all love Leicester City, though everyone is entering unprecedented territory.

Yesterday Foxes of Leicester picked up the story that three Foxes team members are undertaking a self-isolation period because of what’s described as extremely mild symptoms. As of Thursday the line was that the trio are yet to be tested because they’ve “not hit the threshold in terms of symptoms”. You can read more about that at lcfc.com.

What’s next for Leicester City?

Well, that’s the most intriguing, mysterious question. Hopefully the experts will be making more clear when we can hope for life to return to normal eventually. It is unknown at this time if the rest of the training ground is closed, or if the rest of the roster is self-isolating.
