Following the Premier League shut down until April 4, Foxes of Leicester explains how the Leicester City squad are keeping fit and if they’re still training together.

Oh dear, oh dear – what do we all do without football? Especially when we need something to occupy our minds. I’ll refer you over to former Leicester City striker Gary Lineker’s Twitter account: he’s doing an expert job at entertaining himself. In addition, the BBC Match of the Day host is expressing his boredom more creatively and articulately than some of us.

Us City fans had so much to look forward to before the coronavirus scare dominated world proceedings: a thrilling end to a wonderful Premier League season; possible Champions League qualification for the Foxes; not to mention an exciting international tournament now at risk of postponement, the 2020 Euros.

There are four conference calls set for Tuesday, to decide the next procedure for European football governing body UEFA. At that point, we will know more about the premiership and summer competition. Although the unprecedented nature of the pandemic means all plans could change or be altered at any moment – for the better or worse.

What is the Leicester City squad up to?

Leicester City released a statement last week suggesting that their training ground, Belvoir Drive, will remain open with reduced activity, but is fully operational. In fact King Power Stadium is functional too, at present.

While Leicestershire Live state that doctors of the English top-flight have convened, deciding to create special work at home schedules to maintain players’ fitness throughout the division. Furthermore, the publication says that the athletes were told to stay away from their clubs’ facilities.
