Leicester City First Team Coach Kolo Toure has spoken up about his managerial ambitions as he looks to inspire future generations in Africa.

Having worked as the Technical Assistant at Celtic, Toure then followed Brendan Rodgers to Leicester last year and has since been an integral part of what the club has achieved during this time.

Toure, who is currently studying for his UEFA Pro Licence, is now hoping to be a manager himself – but not before he has learned the trade from the very best in the world.

Speaking to the Daily Record, he said:

"“If you want to bring the best to the players you have to learn the best philosophy of football playing.“You have to learn the best way to coach players. Some of my friends who have been playing maybe haven’t thought of that.“But I want to do it because I think Africa needs that, Africa needs people who can inspire them.“There always has to be one person to start – and then the rest will follow.”"

The Ivorian has already the prerogative of playing under such managers as Arsene Wenger – he was part of Arsenal’s Invincibles side – Roberto Mancini, Jurgen Klopp and, of course, Rodgers, who he now works alongside.

By the time he is done with his licences, he will have learned a great deal from Rodgers, who, as is no secret, is one of the best coaches in the world.

The kind of philosophies and systems that the Irishman brings to the table are very much in sync with the modern ways of football, a factor that will help Toure once he decides to take up his first job as the gaffer.

It is commendable that the 39-year old wants to inspire people back in his motherland. There are a lot of legendary players to have come from the African continent; however, not all of them have gone down the same route as Toure.

Maybe Toure’s foray could bring more former players out of their shells.
