Kasper Schmeichel’s opinion of Leicester team-mate may surprise you
Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel has made some very sensible comments on coronavirus. He also gave a funny interview about a team-mate.
Leicester City’s ‘great Dane’, Kasper Schmeichel, is probably going to be remembered as the club’s greatest ever goalkeeper. He is certainly the most significant – overtaking footballing legends Gordon Banks and Peter Shilton in that regard – thanks to the Premier League ‘incredibles’ title-winning season.
Unfortunately, at the moment the Danish international is keeping himself isolate yet healthy like the rest of us. Well hopefully everyone is now heeding the government advice on coronavirus.
Anyway, Schmeichel made a very sensible public service announcement or PSA about instructions for these strange, worrying times. Additionally the ‘keeper also praised his native Denmark for their – as usual – swift and mature approach to the crisis. You can head over to his Twitter or Instagram accounts to see all that.
Leicester City training games insight
Jamie Vardy must be one of the most iconic contemporary Foxes alongside Schmeichel and premiership trophy lifting captain Wes Morgan. Vardy has also been taking to social media sites in this isolation period: he’s made people laugh; had top-level journalists looking foolish, all in great spirits; along with showing folks how to train well while under quarantine regulations.
Although, don’t expect Vardy and his stopper to line-up together in the same training ground side. Hilariously, while praising his No.9’s prolific, clinical scoring record in matches, Schmeichel doesn’t want to be in Vardy’s practice XI. Read an extract of the Leicester Mercury interview below the link:
"“He [Vardy] has this incredible ability to switch it on in games. In training? Not as much. I don’t want to be on his team sometimes!“You can tell he knows where to be. He’s become very clever in his movements, but he still has that raw blistering speed and the predatory instinct of knowing where to be…”– Kasper Schmeichel"
