Turkish stalwart for Leicester City, Caglar Soyuncu, has made a very important and delightful decision about his Foxes future.
This season Caglar Soyuncu made his name, firstly for Leicester City as an impressive starter; then as a Premier League defensive star with admirers the world over.
Replacing Harry Maguire was a daunting task, as the confident centre-back has clearly stated himself. But nevertheless Soyuncu surely made as good a takeover of the England man as anyone ever could have dreamed.
Maguire was known as a self-assured, supremely talented player, who makes the modern transition from defending areas to midfield playmaking seem effortless. Well, the Turk appears to have taken note of this fine element: adding flair play on the ball at the correct times to his imposing, ferocious tackling and stalking of nervous attackers.
2019/20 was the former Freiberg athlete’s breakout – can he get even better for Leicester in 2020/21? The formidable partnership between Jonny Evans and Soyuncu possibly outweighs any duo Maguire has been a part of.

This week Leicester Mercury published a translation of an interview with the centre-half in Turkey. He freely admits that he still has much to learn in the game; while also acknowledging his marvelous campaign as a full-time Fox.
Soyuncu subsequently speaks on his Leicester City status, making a point that will ensure the Blue Army’s happiness: saying that he sees his future at King Power Stadium. In fact, he doesn’t believe it would benefit his career to move at present.
