We all know Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel is a great stopper. But how did he make this Premier League XI ahead of Liverpool’s Alisson Becker?

How are you coping without Leicester City or football at the park or the stadium? It’s very difficult; but there are ways around it: watching highlights of the good old days, for example. Then there are tasks like nominating your picks for the season’s most impressive players.

In fact, Sky Sports have compiled a Premier League Best XI for the 2019/20 campaign, via their Power Rankings statistical system. Those ratings are given from analysis of stats from all over the park: including goals, assists, pass rates, tackles, interceptions, key passing, among other influences.

Leicester City duo in Best XI

Within the side devised by the outlet are two Foxes: James Maddison in midfield, along with Kasper Schmeichel in-goal.

Denmark’s stopper is somewhat of a surprise inclusion, given the prowess of Liverpool’s Alisson Becker, Ederson at Manchester City. Not to mention the incredible performances by Dean Henderson on loan from Manchester United at Sheffield United.

However, Leicester City’s title-winning ‘keeper has inescapably shown the adept skill levels between the sticks to maintain this awesome push from the Foxes for Champions League qualification. The King Power club’s defence has been cited this term as a proverbial rock – that includes Schmeichel, of course.

Delving into the publishing, we learn that the Danish goalie saved twice as many shots as his Brazilian counterpart Alisson; naturally the latter faces less attempts due to the prowess of the Reds in general. Schmeichel also prevented an average of 2.8 goals a game.
