Leicester City are eyeing RB Salzburg’s Dominik Szoboszlai as a potential replacement for James Maddison, according to The Sun.

The 19-year old has also been the subject of interest from a number of European giants, namely Juventus, Inter Milan, Chelsea and Arsenal. Quite a list, that.

Szoboszlai has made 29 appearances for Salzburg this season, scoring an impressive four goals and recording seven assists

Matyas Esterhazy, the Hungary international’s agent, has already deemed England as a good option for the future, so Leicester will certainly consider themselves in – if indeed they want him as Maddison’s replacement this summer.

Here’s what he told – as quoted by Dan King of The Sun

"“There are some great options and England is definitely a very good one for the future.“But the main thing now is to survive the crisis and finish the season, hopefully as champions.”"

Maddison has been making a lot of headlines lately because of Manchester United’s reported pursuit of him.

Although the 23-year old has twice expressed his intention to stay in the East Midlands, he has “not” signed an extension as of now.

Until he does that, it is difficult to say what will become of this situation as when the transfer window opens.

United have been after him for a very long time and usually, when they are interested in a player, that too someone as talented as the 23-year old, they do get him.

They did it with Harry Maguire, too. Not to forget, the England international did, like Maddison, state that Leicester’s an “exciting club to be at” etc.; however, when the right offer came in, he left.

So do not be shocked if Maddison leaves. After all, this is football, and words here do not always match actions.
