Every single Leicester City supporter was very happy and relieved to hear positive news about injured star Ricardo Pereira.

Apart from Wilfred Ndidi, we at Foxes of Leicester would offer the opinion that Ricardo Pereira contributes arguably the most and is as valuable a player as any in the Leicester City squad. In fact, the Portuguese is so good that he is apparently being targeted for a transfer by French giants Paris Saint-Germain.

Let’s hope Ricardo gets the improved contract he deserves this off-season, as well as hoping his head hasn’t been turned by footballing superpowers such as PSG. He is, indeed, bordering on the irreplaceable for the Foxes.

There is even talk of the right-back advancing up the pitch into the right-wing spot; something he has experienced and excelled at before. This writer certainly thinks that manoeuvre is a distinct possibility due to his successful facilitating. Especially with the emergence of James Justin, who prefers the right side but can play on the left and more forward as well.

Good news for Leicester City fans

Since undergoing knee surgery for a fairly serious issue in March following an injury sustained just before the suspension of the Premier League, the Portugal man updated his fans via Instagram on his progress and fitness whilst ensuring rehabilitation at home in the country.

Thankfully all is going well for the defender, who confirmed that he is over the worst to media company MaisFutebol.

Additionally, the Leicester City favourite declined to put an estimated date of return to Foxes action. Obviously this campaign and the next are still in limbo anyway. May we offer our sincerest good luck to ‘Ricky P’, along with imploring him to remain a Fox! He’ll surely be in with a shout for Player of the Year again for 2019/20.
