If Leicester City lose Ricardo Pereira now, it would be like losing the greatest part of the Foxes. Now he’s addressed the matter.

Ricardo Pereira won both of Leicester City’s most prestigious awards in 2018/19: Player of the Season and Players’ Player of the Season. His value to the Foxes is immeasurable.

So far this campaign – it is not known if 2019/20 will be completed whatsoever, leaving many including the King Power side in limbo – it was business as usual for the right-back. He managed five goal involvements, and would have or will, probably match last season’s tally of eight.

Wanted man at Leicester City

Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona are said to be monitoring the exquisite fullback. These rumours were mildly surprising when they first reared their heads around a year ago. Although it is now no surprise to hear that superclubs are after the Portuguese.

However, Leicester City have a policy of not implementing release clauses in their players’ contracts, we are led to believe. That is since Chelsea snatched away once in a generation footballer N’golo Kante from Filbert Way.

Therefore any team wanting to pluck the exceptional, forward-thinking defender will have to potentially pay as much as Manchester United did for Harry Maguire.

Ricardo himself this week spoke on Telefoot, a French sports program, and suggested that the apparent interest from such major clubs proves he is doing a good job for City. While the Portugal international said it was a positive thing, he confirmed he has had no contact with another outfit, thankfully.
