Along with Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City have also reportedly joined the transfer race for Leicester City’s Ben Chilwell.

Leicester City have a great defensive record in the 2019/20 campaign. That has been as important to their Champions League qualification aspiration as their terrific attacking prowess. Therefore it is no surprise to see other elite clubs targeting Foxes for a potential move this summer, or whenever the transfer window opens.

Caglar Soyuncu and Ricardo Pereira have both been linked with switches to teams of incredible stature. Though it is Ben Chilwell’s name that had become synonymous with Leicester speculation, rumour and source information in the sports media.

Chilwell is a Leicester City academy graduate and subsequent first team standout player. And then became an England international, with a claim to being first choice left-back under Gareth Southgate.

Evidently the 23 year-old is an asset to the King Power side; however his performances dramatically dropped during this season. Leicester have, consequently to interest from a number of teams, apparently placed an astounding £80 million pricetag on the Fox. This is arguably a manoeuvre to discourage rivals at the top of the Premier league from bidding for Chilwell.

Currently the former Huddersfield Town loanee’s suitors reportedly include three prominent outfits desperate for an incoming correct left-sided defender for their respective teams. They are: Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and, most recently in football gossip, Manchester City.
