It appears, after much talk about a transfer to Barcelona or Liverpool, that Turkish Leicester City star Caglar Soyuncu will sign a new contract imminently.

This season Caglar Soyuncu made his name as a talented starter for Leicester City. Furthermore he is also now a cult icon in the Premier League. He is known for a rather competitive, battling style. Which is marvellously complemented by a particularly deft, thoughtfully skilled approach. Therefore it is no wonder he is courted by large clubs.

You may or may not have read Foxes of Leicester’s discussions about Soyuncu recently, but we can break it down fairly quickly for you. Basically the Foxes defender’s agent, as well as a Turkish football expert, claim that the centre-back may be about to transfer to Barcelona. Liverpool were also mentioned.

Afterwards, within the last week, the speculation was picked up and widely repeated in Turkey. Following this it swirled around English media along with Spain. Yet the rumour was dismissed by another company: as Spanish outlets merely referenced the Turkish news as opposed to stating the conjecture was fact.

Unbelievably, according to Sport Witness, Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan conducted a conference call with the 23-year-old defender, asking him about the transfer gossip.

Soyuncu replied that his agent handles that “business”; adding that his representative has given his client “no hint” on the situation. While it does seems a little unlikely that Soyuncu would be in the dark about any possible movements, there is other potentially great news for the Foxes faithful.

Leicester City bosses are apparently confident that Soyuncu will sign a new contract with the King Power outfit, per Daily Mail. The report suggests that the former Freiburg man has been negotiating with his current side for a spell.
