Leicester-linked Arsenal player is perfect for the Foxes
Leicester City may need to buy a new left-back this summer if Ben Chilwell eventually leaves. Bukayo Saka is a perfect replacement for Leicester City.
Ben Chilwell is constantly linked with a transfer away from Leicester City; if that scenario does occur, Brendan Rodgers will need a new, talented starlet to replace another. This article makes the case that Arsenal’s Bukayo Sako could be an ideal replacement or improvement on the left-side of the Foxes’ defence.
Evidently Manchester City and certainly Chelsea have eyed up Chilwell in the past, if rumours are to be believed then it is likely that interest continues. However, the senior England man’s poor form in 2019/20 was painfully obvious; some observers even suggested that the Fox was deliberately playing tentatively in order to protect himself and his inevitable move away from King Power Stadium this summer. A harsh assessment.
Arsenal man fits Leicester City
Despite Bukayo Sako only being 18-years-old, he could automatically become a Leicester City starting full-back. In fact he’ll be 19 in September; and obviously exhibited enough technical ability, maturity and ice-cold diligence to start at a club the size of the Gunners at a tender age. Additionally, the starlet can play as a winger/wing-back.
Sako could honestly take Leicester to a higher performance point that his inconsistent Leicester counterpart. No disrespect to Chilwell – a marvelous player who deserves to represent his country – but Sako is a special player. While the Arsenal defensive-man set standards and the bar incredibly high this past campaign, Chilwell devalued whilst decreasing in standard.
Last month 90MIN reported that the East Midlanders are monitoring Sako’s contract situation with a view to a bid. He is yet to sign an extension at his current club, with his contract expiring in one year. Although on Monday, an Instagram post by the starlet was interpreted as a wish to stay at Emirates, or a hint of signing a new deal there.
