It’s about time the good news came rolling in, and this fresh report on Kristoffer Ajer could be just the ticket for a Leicester City transfer.

When a team has a proficient duo such as Leicester City centre-halfs Jonny Evans and Caglar Soyuncu, it is easy to become complacent knowing that you’re well covered at the back. Although, the King Power club won’t rest on their laurels. In fact Brendan Rodgers, along with his recruitment department, have been searching for another defender to sign ready for Evans’ eventual retirement.

Of course Rodgers was at Celtic previously – leaving Hoops fans devastated when he departed before securing a treble treble for the side – and worked closely with their highly-rated centre-back Kristoffer Ajer. Subsequent to the Northern Irishman’s switch back to the Premier League with Leicester, the Foxes are constantly linked with an interest in Ajer.

Good news for Leicester City pursuit

It appears some encouraging news has emerged regarding the 22-year-old defensive man – he’s been labeled with an apparent asking price of only £20 million. That pricetag would amount to a mere drop in the ocean if Ajer does become a starting, revered centre-back like Caglar Soyuncu for example.

Furthermore, Leicester Mercury carry the story which states that the fee has been revealed following Celtic’s struggles to tie their asset down to a new contract. However, the report also says French superclub Paris Saint-Germain are monitoring the player, too. Leicester City were apparently ‘winning the race’ to sign Ajer, according to speculation last week.
