It appears that Manchester City may be rivaling Chelsea for the signature of Leicester City star defender Ben Chilwell.
Pep Guardiola battling it out with Frank Lampard in any arena is a battle of wits most football fans would pay to see. This situation is a little different, but the Spaniard might still have the edge on his opponent, for now. Welcome to Foxes of Leicester’s latest dissection of another Leicester City transfer rumour.
This one seems to have traction: Ben Chilwell is certainly admired by many top clubs, probably abroad too – there’s simply too much national attention for it to be merely hearsay. Supposed leaders in the chase for the defender, Chelsea, have now endured another twist in the quest for their apparent ‘marquee’ target this summer.
Manchester City join race for Leicester City star
If you had to choose whether to sign for Guardiola at Man City or Lampard at the Blues – which would you select? I know it’d be tough to turn down the Spanish footballing genius; especially as the Northern side have such a great team. However, his London counterpart seems to mean business as he rebuilds his side with some marvelous young players and signings.
It seems Leicester City’s England international left-back may now have that exact choice on his mind – if speculation reported by the Telegraph is to be believed. They suggest the Manchester outfit will bid for him when the season is complete.
Meanwhile, Express carries a story saying the replacement Leicester supposedly have lined up, Kieran Tierney, is highly-rated by current side Arsenal and wants to remain with the Gunners. Time will tell whether the talk is real; it must also be noted that some of the Blue Army faithful have said they’d take the deal for Tierney. While other supporters of the King Power club are adamant Chilwell must remain a Fox.
