It’s Kasper Schmeichel’s dream to play for Man United: Leicester news

You may have heard the transfer rumour involving Leicester City’s Kasper Schmeichel and Manchester United. Well, an ex-colleague of his says the ‘keeper will go if a bid is accepted.

Upon initial glance, the Kasper Schmeichel to Manchester United rumour seemed somewhat fanciful for a multitude of reasons. First of all, United don’t need the Danish international, whatsoever. I’m sure some partizan Leicester City fans will disagree with me – but De Gea is still the better overall goalkeeper, in my opinion.

All stoppers go through bad form occasionally; the Spaniard was the world’s No.1 not so long ago. Now it appears that Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer doesn’t want De Gea as his senior goalie anymore.

Then there is the supremely talented Dean Henderson; a future England regular, surely. Apparently United consider him unfit for promotion as their first choice, despite his great displays for Sheffield United.

Funnily enough, ironically, or merely by coincidence, believe it or not I actually pondered Schmeichel’s status as Leicester City’s main man over the weekend. I wondered why no clubs have bid for him in recent times, as far Foxes of Leicester are aware.

And, as the speculation of a supposed switch percolates through the mind, it suddenly feels a slightly more likely than when it began. Especially when you hear the comments of Mikkel Bischoff, a compatriot and colleague of the on-field Foxes captain when he was at Manchester City.

Bischoff explains how Schmeichel’s age wouldn’t affect a bid, as United often have ageing expertise in goal. The player is said to be a huge Man Utd supporter. Not to mention that ever since his father Peter was there, it is Kasper Schmeichel’s “dream” to play at Old Trafford.
