Leicester have big issues for the Premier League start, as James Maddison, Ricardo Pereira, Jonny Evans are injured. Filip Benkovic also appears unavailable.

Who’s excited for the Premier League’s return this weekend?! I know I am: Fantasy EPL team done and locked in; Leicester City shirt cleaned and ready; schedule cleared for Sunday at 1pm onwards. It’s going to be an exciting weekend.

Although, not all Foxes fans are in good moods following a strange and seemingly, at this point, underwhelming transfer window from the King Power side.

The impact COVID-19 had on the travel business is overwhelming. KP is a duty free service, so obviously the ownership have been hit hard and that will presumably affect money put into the club.

Yet supporters are aware that without investment in players, the club will slide down the top-flight table. Not to mention probably not requalifying for European competition.

There are still over 20 days for Leicester to make other requisite signings: a centre-back is becoming mandatory; a right sided wingman is essential; a specialist left-back hasn’t been bought to replace Ben Chilwell, technically.

Injury issues for Leicester City

West Bromwich Albion welcome their Midlands rivals in the first match of the upcoming term. James Maddison is a huge doubt for the game; Ricardo Pereira and Jonny Evans are unavailable. While Filip Benkovic is possibly unfit or unfavoured. Leaving only one senior centre-back, Caglar Soyuncu.

The opening premiership match of the 2020/21 season for the Baggies and the Foxes begins at 2pm on Sunday, 13 October at the Hawthorns. While the West Midlands outfit were promoted from the lower Championship division in 2019/20, they will provide a stern test for Rodgers’ side.
