Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers says James Maddison is ready for a return to the starting XI for the Carabao Cup versus Arsenal.

The Carabao Cup Third Round is upon us, there were a selection of matches on Tuesday evening. Of course, the big boys now enter at this stage; with Manchester United beating a plucky Championship edition of Luton Town. Leicester City welcome Arsenal to King Power Stadium on Wednesday night.

Hopefully the Foxes will also be blessed with the return of James Maddison to the starting eleven. Maddison has had a problem, dating back to the 2019/20 Premier League run-in. He was said to have had an injection for the issue to play a bit part against Everton last season; although that probably made his injury worse.

Then he was absent for the remainder of the fixtures – which was another nail in the coffin for Leicester’s Champions League aspirations.

This campaign the England playmaker has featured in both EPL matches, but only as a substitute. However, he is set to return to Brendan Rodgers’ XI versus Mikel Arteta’s team. Both bosses are expected to use altered line-ups.
