Wesley Fofana’s Leicester City medical is taking place in Germany today, therefore he is not expected to sign on Wednesday.

I’m sure you all saw the quite startling post from the official Saint-Etienne Twitter account on Tuesday: for a football club to make an announcement of an agreement before Wesley Fofana or the buying team, is odd. Particularly when the other side is Leicester City, an entity that prefers to do its business very quietly and incognito.

However the French outfit’s boss, former Leicester manager Claude Puel, has been outspoken since there has were even slight rumours of a possible deal. In all honesty, Puel could have just kept his mouth shut. Just as he did when questions needed answering during his stressful, draining and uninspiring tenure at King Power Stadium.

Puel really didn’t want to lose his defensive starlet and made that clear; a softer, man management-esque approach would have probably done him more favours with regard to retaining their asset. Nevertheless, the Frenchman’s lobbying of St. Etienne’s president did nothing to help as the Foxes concluded a compromise.

Things are moving fast in terms of a pending announcement of Fofana’s signing for Leicester. The player has previously said he wants a switch to Leicestershire and there was also suggestion that the 19 year old had in fact negotiated personal terms already.

As you can see in the tweet from Sky Sports’ Rob Dorsett above, wages are not expected to be an issue. The centre-back’s medical is on Wednesday, therefore he will most likely be confirmed as a Fox on Thursday or Friday.
