An injury update on Leicester City star James Maddison’s latest setback, after he missed the West Ham United defeat.

The less Foxes of Leicester has to say about the demoralising, pathetic and woefully inept defeat to West Ham United, the better! There were almost zero positives for Leicester City in their latest Premier League contest.

In fact, with two potential injuries from before and during the game, it wouldn’t be extreme to offer the opinion that the Foxes went backwards on Sunday, subsequent to a phenomenal 2020/21 campaign start.

Yes, Brendan Rodgers’ team still sit second at present – Liverpool are being beaten 3-1 by Aston Villa at the time of writing, a strange season gets weirder – so it’s not all doom and gloom.

Latest Leicester City injury issues

James Maddison was missing from the 18-man squad versus West Ham. Many of the Blue Army were naturally expecting the England man to begin the clash, since he made some great substitute appearances due to a back injury hanging over from last term.

Maddison trained up until Thursday, but was mysterious unavailable at the weekend. He is said to have suffered a calf injury. It is unknown when he will return for the East Midlanders at this moment.

Daniel Amartey will also be assessed following a problem sustained against the Hammers. Madders’ absence led to some rather silly people starting a fanciful rumour – not being in the matchday team means the 24 year old is signing for Manchester United, apparently.

That is simply a lie: Maddison only signed a contract extension at the end of August; consequently Man United would probably have to pay Leicester more than they were prepared to offer Borussia Dortmund for Jadon Sancho. In other words, a deal with a day remaining of the transfer window isn’t gonna happen!
