Brendan Rodgers indicates when Ricardo Pereira will play for Leicester
During his pre-match press conference, Brendan Rodgers indicated when Ricardo Pereira will play for Leicester City again after a lengthy injury issue.
Leicester City have managed to push on positively, overall, in both the Premier League and Europa League despite a host of injuries to contend with. That includes Wilfred Ndidi, who will hopefully return very soon, according to Brendan Rodgers.
In fact, the manager gave other updates at his standard pre-match press conference in Portugal. The Foxes are in mainland Europe to play SC Braga in the UEL, after jetting off on Wednesday afternoon.
Braga were overturned 4-0 at King Power Stadium – much to the delight of the Blue Army, as many pundits argued that they would be the toughest Group G opponents for Leicester. You are probably already aware that the east Midlands side are top of that table.
Although the Foxes have slid down to fourth in the English top-flight, following a 3-0 drubbing at the hands of champions Liverpool. With Southampton and Everton – two of the most improved teams this season – breathing down their necks.
Boss indicates when Ricardo will play for Leicester City
In addition to having the masterful centre-midfielder, Ndidi, back in his lineup in the near future, Rodgers was also optimistic yet precautious about the excellent right-back Ricardo Pereira’s comeback. Ricardo played for the reserves, or Development squad this week
to gain fitness.
And the Portugal man will be doing that for another two-to-three weeks, says the boss. That means Leicester fans will possibly see him back with the seniors in advance of Christmas.
Other topics covered by the gaffer at his presser before meeting the Portuguese, include: the opponents, Ayoze Perez’s absence, Diego Maradona’s death and supporters returning to stadia. Check BBC Sport for more information.
