Tottenham 0-2 Leicester City: Foxes player ratings
By James Bishop
Wilfred Ndidi– 9 Man of the Match
If anyone say Wilfred Ndidi isn’t the best defensive midfielder in the league, you know they know nothing about football. The Nigerian is so imperious in there, without him Justin would have been allowed the freedom to step into the attacking areas. Ndidi was so good at knowing when to trip up his opponent and his passing has come on leaps and bounds. Easily man of the match for me.
Youri Tielemans– 8
Another game of football and another Tielemans masterclass. In a match full of quality midfielders, Tielemans controlled the game. He is so good at spinning the ball in behind, and he should have capped his performance off with a goal at the end. Please don’t get injured.
James Maddison– 7
Alan Smith described the England international performance as classy, and few would disagree. He should have had a goal but for the stupidity of VAR. He would find spaces when in possession, but his defensive work again went unnoticed. Asked to press with Jamie Vardy upfront he put in a real shift. Hopefully this rich vein of from will continue.
Harvey Barnes– 6
A weird game for the Academy product. Sometimes he would get into really good positions but then delay and lose the ball. His performance was epitomised when he beat two with some silky footwork and then just didn’t know what to and lost the ball.
Jamie Vardy– 8
The Leicester legend wins football matches. After scoring the penalty, he somehow managed to win a header against to physically superior players and forced a second. Let’s hope the little niggle is nothing to serious.
Substitutes:
Daniel Amartey– 6
He didn’t have a lot to do but great to see him back in the team.
Dennis Praet– 6
The Belgian has seemingly found himself out of the team but he will have a big say in the latter stages.
Kelechi Iheanacho– 6
Some good hold up play but hard to make an impact in 5 minutes.
