Ricardo Pereira and Cengiz Under should be available to return for Leicester City against Southampton on Saturday evening.

Yep, it is great news for the Leicester City faithful to have Ricardo Pereira and Cengiz Under available for January 16. In particular the availability of arguably the best performing player of recent times, in the Portuguese, is an exceptional development following his long-term absence.

Under, too, became a special ‘supersubstitute’ type player for the Foxes in his few appearances. Granted, he has been ineffective overall in starting roles; yet the Blue Army – and presumably Brendan Rodgers – expect big things from the talented Turkey international who is on loan from Roma. In fact, today the Northern Irishman said of his temporary winger that Under is “looking very good”, as per BBC Radio Leicester Sport.

With regard to Ricardo being immediately selected to rejoin the east Midlands eleven – that is not going to happen! Wisely, the manager is considering a gentle restart for the defender. Which is a contrast to what happened when the Portugal star had his first restart since being badly injured: unfortunately, despite Rodgers’ insistence that the Foxes medical staff gave the go-ahead, Ricardo started in Europe and suffered a reoccurrence. Basically, the former-Porto man should have been eased in then, too.

Describing Ricardo’s current situation, Rodgers explained that the right-back – or possibly soon to be right-winger – will be eased into the side. Therefore do not expect a start, but the 27-year-old may feature from the sideline versus Southampton.

In more good news for you now, the games of the Fourth Round of the FA Cup have been arranged. The Foxes meet Brentford at Brentford Community Stadium on Sunday, January 24 at 2:30pm. Silverware would delight the City fans so the FA Cup is being taken seriously this season.
