Leicester: Things to know about transfer target Mattias Svanberg
Swedish midfielder Mattias Svanberg from Italian side Bologna has been linked with a move to the Premier League with Leicester City.
With the transfer window at the halfway point, Leicester City rumours will increase. Inevitably, the hearsay will concern players potentially leaving and joining the Foxes. Recently there was a repeat link concerning Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard.
Brendan Rodgers actually spoke on the matter in his recent press conference, saying that he is confident the owners would pay if the correct personnel arises. However, the boss also confirmed that he did not want to simply “pad out” the squad, as per Daily Record.
Midfielder connected with Leicester City
Respected Italian sports journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has verified that Leicester are interested in signing Mattias Svanberg from Bologna. Southampton and AC Milan are also apparently monitoring the latter’s progress.
Svanberg’s preferred foot is right, but he can play wide on either side. Yet, his main position is in central midfield.
Born just before the millennium, Svanberg is making his name in Serie A at age-22. His best attributes are mainly defensive-minded: blocking, measured tackling and shielding the ball; although, the Swede can shoot from range.
Foxes star on new EPL rules
Marc Albrighton is enjoying a revitalised season so far; many people, including some of us at Foxes of Leicester, believed the winger was pretty much washed up at Leicester. Nevertheless, Albrighton has managed to show how good and versatile a player he is, once again.
The Birmingham-born man was asked for his opinion about the division’s decision to ban hugging and generally close celebrations, lately. Albrighton was candid in his response, saying:
"“We have to take it seriously, whether you’re at training or at home…“People want to watch football at home, it’s keeping the country going, people are enjoying that there is a game on TV every night, and we want to keep it like that, so we need to stick to the guidelines.”– Marc AlbrightonVia Leicestershire Live"
