Cengiz Under has made some great contributions to the Leicester City team, but injuries and failure to secure a starting place means his future is unclear.

Most Blue Army members I’ve spoken to or seen referencing Cengiz Under on Twitter are complimentary about the winger, having generally liked what they’ve witnessed.

One or two moments in attack have been underwhelming or involved poor decision-making from Under. On the contrary, a few scenarios – assisting as a ‘supersub’ in particular – were excellent.

Foxes of Leicester’s view on the Turkey international is that there is a lot to his game than hasn’t been shown so far. Under certainly needs a longer run in the side – injures and other decent performers such as Marc Albrighton permitting – which Brendan Rodgers still may choose to do.

Leicestershire Live quotes Rodgers as confirming that the King Power club will assess Under’s progress at the end of the season. Then they will decide if the Roma man is a player they’d like for a sustained period.

The Northern Irishman also said it’s difficult to adapt to the Premier League, and that he rates the player’s quality. But the boss then hinted that he wants more from Under, who wants to stay in the EPL.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall won’t return this campaign

Elsewhere in City-world, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall was not recalled from Luton Town to the east Midlands side following a three month layoff for Dennis Praet. Leicester actually missed the deadline, according to the same outlet, as there had been a stipulation to bring the midfielder back to Filbert Way in 2020/21 if required.

Meanwhile, it is likely Hamza Choudhury will now remain a Fox, after he was essentially put up for sale by the manager before the Belgian’s problem arose. Choudhury is another Academy graduate, like Harvey Barnes, and many Foxes fans are therefore keen to see him do well. Although, FoL sees no place in the team for the 23-year-old whilst Wilfred Ndidi and Papy Mendy are around.
