Leicester City 2-0 Chelsea: Premier League leaders’ player ratings
By James Bishop
Leicester City continued to annoy the media by becoming the latest side to top the Premier League table thanks to a fine 2-0 win against Chelsea at the King Power Stadium.
A bright start for the Foxes gave them an early lead when Wilfred Ndidi smashed in a well worked corner – FINALLY – and they never looked back.
With Leicester having won every game they have scored first in this season it’s hardly surprising James Maddison doubled their lead, shortly after the visitors had a penalty call deemed just outside.
A predicted Chelsea onslaught never came, and the Leicester City saw out an impressive win to keep proving the doubters wrong and lead the pack. Expect some high ratings.
Kasper Schmeichel– 6
It’s really positive to keep saying he never had anything to do. It shows how dominant the Foxes are defensively. Despite a moment of madness when he was rushing out to half way line, despite two defenders in control, he was loud and clear all match, keeping up the high standards of the whole team.
Timothy Castagne– 7
The Belgian marauder was on fine today. He was non stop down the right hand side, and his combinations were as effect as usual. His high press was incredible, so often he was winning the ball in the opposition half. Castange was a winger by trade, and maybe him playing right wing instead of Ricardo could be a good solution to the selection headache at full back.
