Ever wondered which player is the best player that Leicester City star Jamie Vardy has ever played against, or who is ultimate partner would be?

A couple of months ago, Foxes fan-favourite Vardy spoke to Sky Sports about some of the things we’ve always wondered. And as usual, the No.9 was particularly revealing and candid in his replies.

First of all, Vardy was asked who is the best player he’s ever played against; the striker said Argentine Lionel Messi of Barcelona was his choice.

Vardy’s next answer to the media outlet’s enquiry may surprise you; when asked which player would be Vardy’s ultimate, dream partner from any era, that’s any star ever, he nominated David Nugent! Nugent is also a legend of the King Power club, but a shock choice. However, ‘Vards’ explained how the duo had a great understanding on the pitch.

On Vardy’s fitness, Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers said this recently:

"He’s [Vardy’s] 6 days post operation. He was sore but he’s on schedule for when we expect him back. We’re looking at hopefully getting back in the next 7-10 days”Via BBC Sport"

Transfer window update for Leicester City

There are only a few days remaining in this transfer window, with Leicester City yet to secure any deals again. I say again, because January last season saw the mildly calamitous introduction of Wolverhampton Wanderers centre-back Ryan Bennett. Bennett is probably more of a Champions level player: filling in for Caglar Soyuncu became an issue.

Rodgers says, however, that he and his Recruitment team are working with diligence in order to sign a suitable signing – an attacking midfielder. The Foxes will hope any eventual incomings are as successful as the Youri Tielemans loan move a couple of years ago.
