How late Leicester City chairman Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha kept Jamie Vardy from Arsenal and Arsene Wenger’s clutches in 2016.

Surely it would’ve been the greatest story in the Premier League: a monumental move, causing a potential turnaround in arsenal’s fortunes for the last five years? Well, no, actually. That’s because Vardy is still busy writing the most incredible folklore in EPL history with the Foxes.

But, as Mr Wenger explains, the latter part of the former-England international’s career could have been so different. Furthermore, in Foxes of Leicester’s honest view, all Gunners jokes aside – Vardy would have been a phenomenal success at Emirates Stadium, too. I’m positive the east Midlands side’s support thanks the Lord that the forward remained at King Power Stadium.

The ex-Arsenal manager claims his then club – where the Frenchman was idolised and generally held sway over all team matters – offered Vardy a ‘lot of money’, as per Daily Mail. Wenger explains that he and his outfit made a bid which included substantial wages; we’ve heard the gaffer previously divulge that Vardy met him in London at the time.

However, late, beloved former chairman Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha apparently made an equally high salary proposal – possibly with more cash, according to Wenger. This was not the norm for Leicester at the time; the evolution of disregarding their ‘selling club’ tag.

Presumably Vardy was also assured that teams will be built around him on Filbert Way, as opposed to at Arsenal. This is yet another reason for the Blue Army to honour Khun Vichai!
